How does this automation work?
Bardeen's automation playbook, "Copy all browser tabs to Notion", allows you to save all your currently opened browser tabs to a Notion database. This is especially useful when you are researching a topic and have multiple tabs open. Instead of manually saving each tab, this playbook will do it for you, ensuring that you never lose any important information. This playbook is particularly useful for personal productivity, helping you organize your research and work more efficiently.
Here is how this workflow works:
- Get Open Tabs: This command uses Bardeen's browser extension to get a list of all currently opened browser tabs. This list will be used in the next step to create pages in Notion.
- Create Notion Page: For each tab obtained from the previous step, a new page is created in the specified Notion database. Notion is an all-in-one workspace where you can write, plan, collaborate, and organize your work. You will need to specify the Notion database where the pages will be created.
How to run the playbook
Find yourself constantly drowning in a sea of tabs? You’re not alone.
30% of the participants in a recent study admitted that they had tab hoarding problems. According to the research, each time we close a tab, we get a slight feeling of “missing out on something.”
Not anymore!
You can use this automation to save and organize all of your opened browser tabs in a Notion database. That way, you always have access to your favorite tab combinations. No fear of losing links.
To make this playbook work, create a Notion database with the information you want to store, like page title, website link, and website icon. The playbook will ask you to map the tab information to your columns. That’s it!
Whenever you want to save your tabs, launch Bardeen (or type Option + B) to run the playbook. It will get the title, link, and website icon of all your active tabs and add them to the correct columns in your Notion database.
Many of us have perfect tab combinations for activities like work, entertainment, and daily browsing. Create separate Notion databases for each (or use the multi-select property with tags) and the next time you find yourself staring at an empty browser page, you’ll have access to your favorite tabs in just a few seconds.
💪Pro tip: Sometimes, we come across a juicy article, but we don’t have the time to read it. Use the automation that saves the currently opened tab to Notion with the link to the article.
Be gone tab hoarding problems!
