This is a Bardeen playbook. It's a pre-built automation template you can run in one-click to perform a repetitive task. Get started with our free Chrome extension.
How does this automation work?
Bardeen's automation for capturing valuable Reddit post data into Airtable helps businesses harness community insights with a single click. This workflow is particularly useful for marketing professionals and data researchers who want to track trends, gauge public opinion, or gather user-generated content swiftly and efficiently.
Here's how this workflow saves Reddit posts directly into Airtable:
- Step 1: Scrape Reddit Post - The Scraper is used to extract data from the Reddit post in your current active tab. It's configured with a Reddit post template to ensure all relevant information is captured.
- Step 2: Add Data to Airtable - The data scraped from Reddit is then added to a specified Airtable base and table. Airtable acts as a dynamic spreadsheet with database functionalities, making it perfect for organizing and analyzing post data.
How to run the playbook
If you are an avid Reddit user, you know how much time it takes to manually save posts for later. This automation will help you save time by automatically scraping data from a Reddit post and saving it to an Airtable database.
You can choose which data to save and map it to your Airtable fields. This way, you can easily access all your saved Reddit posts in one place and never lose track of a great post again.
Step 1: Create an Airtable
The first step is to create an Airtable with the information that you want to capture
Bardeen will extract information from the currently opened Reddit post and get information like title, post, link, author, author link, subreddit name, descriptions and much more.
Step 2: Install the extension and run the playbook
Click the “Pin it” button at the top of this page to get this automation saved to your Playbook. If you run it for the first time, you will be prompted to install the browser extension. Bardeen will also prompt you to integrate with Airtable.
Click on the playbook card, and the setup flow will start.
You will be asked to specify an Airtable database. After you choose the database, you will get a prompt to map the information to the fields in Airtable.
The left side consists of all the fields Bardeen will scrape for you. On the right side, specify the fields in Airtable that you want to associate with the information on the left. If you don’t want a piece of information, leave that field empty, and it will be skipped. That’s it!
Click on "Save Input" and check Airtable. You can edit inputs later by hovering over the playbook.
Step 3: Start saving!
