Bardeen's 'Get a summary of the current page using OpenAI and save it to Coda' playbook is designed for professionals who need to quickly capture the essence of online content and organize it effectively. Whether you're researching for marketing, streamlining personal productivity, or sourcing data, this workflow automates the summarization of web page content using OpenAI's GPT-3 technology and stores the insights directly in Coda. This saves time and ensures that valuable information is readily accessible for your projects or team collaboration.

Here's how this workflow simplifies data capture and summarization:

  • Step 1: Capture the current page - Bardeen retrieves the HTML content of the page you are currently viewing.
  • Step 2: Convert HTML to text - The HTML is then converted into plain text, preserving the essential information without the markup.
  • Step 3: Summarize with OpenAI - OpenAI's GPT-3 takes the plain text and generates a concise summary, highlighting the key points.
  • Step 4: Get current page URL - Bardeen fetches the URL of the current page to be used in the Coda document.
  • Step 5: Save to Coda - The summary and the URL of the original content are saved into a specified Coda table, ensuring your research is organized and accessible.
