How does this automation work?
Maximizing productivity is essential in the fast-paced business world. Bardeen's playbook for creating an Asana task from the currently opened page is designed to seamlessly integrate your web research into actionable tasks. This workflow is particularly useful for project management, content curation, and data sourcing, allowing you to quickly capture insights and take action on them within Asana.
Here's how this workflow turns your current webpage into an Asana task:
- Step 1: Get the open tab - Bardeen identifies the currently opened tab to work with, ensuring the right content is captured for your Asana task.
- Step 2: Capture current page URL - The URL of the current page is retrieved, which will be included in the Asana task for easy reference back to the source.
- Step 3: Extract page content - Bardeen retrieves the current page's HTML content to process further in the workflow.
- Step 4: Convert HTML to text - The HTML content from the page is converted into plain text. You'll need to specify the level of summary you require.
- Step 5: Summarize text with OpenAI - Using OpenAI, Bardeen generates a concise summary of the text, which is ideal for a quick overview in the task description.
- Step 6: Merge text for Asana - Bardeen prepares the text by combining the page title, summary, and URL into a format suitable for Asana.
- Step 7: Create Asana task - Finally, an Asana task is created with the merged text as the description, adding efficiency to your project management routine.
How to run the playbook
We all know the feeling. You're in the middle of research and you come across an interesting article, but you don't have time to read it right now. So, you bookmark it for later. But later never comes, and the article stays there, collecting digital dust.
This automation will help you turn those articles into actionable items. It will create an Asana task from the currently open page, including a summary of the page generated by OpenAI. That way, you can come back to the task later and quickly get an overview of the article.
Step 1: Pin the playbook and integrate Asana
First, click the 'Pin it' button at the top of this page to save this automation. You will be redirected to install the browser extension when you run it for the first time. Bardeen will also prompt you to integrate Asana.
