How to Delete a HubSpot Account

Deleting a HubSpot account involves different steps depending on the type of account you have. Whether you're a user of the free CRM, a paid subscriber, or a developer, the process varies. Below, we outline the steps for each scenario to help you navigate the process smoothly.

Before You Begin

Before proceeding with the deletion of your HubSpot account, there are a few important considerations:

  • You must be a billing admin to cancel auto-renewal for a HubSpot subscription and delete an account.
  • Identify your HubSpot account type as the steps differ for each.
  • Export your content and data from HubSpot before your subscription expires.

Cancellation Process for Paid HubSpot Subscriptions

If you have a paid HubSpot subscription, follow these steps to cancel your subscription and delete your account:

  1. In your HubSpot account, click your account name in the top right corner, then click Account & Billing.

       2. Click the Subscriptions tab.

       3. Under the subscription you want to cancel, click Cancel auto-renewal.

       4. Follow the prompts to select a cancellation reason and confirm the cancellation.

After cancelling auto-renewal, your account will be downgraded to a free HubSpot CRM after the effective cancellation date. You will continue to be charged for the duration of the commitment length in your contract.

Deleting a Free HubSpot CRM Account

Users with Modify billing permission can delete a free HubSpot CRM account. To delete your account:

  1. In your HubSpot account, click your account name in the top right corner, then click Account & Billing.

       2. Click the Delete Account tab.

      3. Click Delete account.

      4. Enter your Hub ID to confirm the deletion and click Yes, delete to permanently delete your account.

Note: You cannot delete your account if you are on any active HubSpot subscriptions, even if you have cancelled the auto-renewal.

Special Account Types

If you have a HubSpot Developer Account or a HubSpot Template Marketplace provider account, the deletion process may differ. For these account types, it's recommended to follow specific instructions provided in the HubSpot Knowledge Base or contact HubSpot support for assistance.
